TwDrama: Hayate the Combat Butler

HTCB is one of the few collaboration dramas between Japan, Taiwan and Korea. It is a Live Action drama/ adaptation from a manga of the same title (there goes your Japan part), and the actors are mainly Taiwanese except for the female lead Park Shin Hye a Korean.

I am an avid manga reader and a drama addict so this is soo ME!

TwDrama: Material Girl

I can only recall Vaness Wu as one of Taiwan’s F4 from the uber famous Meteor Garden (though I haven’t seen it).

He proved to be a more serious actor and not to mention a hunk with his last projects.

Material Girl seems to be a nice TwDrama filmed in Paris, oh I would love to go there! For the meantime I’ll watch MG.

TwDrama: Drunken To Love You

My first impression was, can’t they think of another title without the ‘to love you’ phrase?

FTLY – Fated to Love You was one of my all-time favorite TwDrama and I hate to compare.

I’ve watched a lot of Rainie Yang’s TwDrama (2 of which is with Mike He) though I’m not a fan, I don’t hate her either. But most of her previous roles were comedic even to the extent of idiotic types.

So with DTLY ‘as rumored’ is her most mature role.

Let’s watch and judge.

KDrama: I Need Romance

I haven’t been able to cope up with the loads of May KDramas and here comes another batch! Not that I am complaining but I need to work and sleep too, and play on the side…

Cable tvN releases another drama after the successful (maybe a little bit) Manny and the male lead is Prince Yul oppa!

Remember the unlucky-in-love-prince in Princess Hour aka Goong? He’s back and Kim Jung Hoon will be the guy-to-get-the-girl this time.

Another on my ‘to-watch’ list (I wonder how long is that list already).

Watchin' BFB

I think the KDrama Baby Faced Beauty is quite underrated.

I happen to like the story and even the characters, I admit I am biased to Lie To Me (because of YEH) and Best Love (it’s a Hong Sisters drama) and at first I am kinda irritated with Jang Na Ra and Daniel Choi’s bickering. But little by little their characters grew into me.

The scenario is also based on a lie and with ep 10 where the lie was taken out in the open, we have the second half (yup, additional 2 eps so we got 20!)to let our heroine salvage her pride and prove to everyone she got what it takes to be a designer. Of course, there’s additional problems along the way. I find Jin Wook’s character kind of cute and lovable. I would be happy to be the bride of a pig-foot-restaurant-owner too!

Maybe if BFB was not shown in May and not pitted to Lie To Me and 49 Days (which ended already and dried my tear ducts) then City Hunter (Lee Min Ho oppa!), they would get more following or more hype. Although among the 3 Kdramas shown in Mon-Tues timeslot BFB rated #1 followed by CH and my fave LTM (huhu).

BFB Fighting!

Too Much KDrama!

There’s a lot of KDramas currently airing or about to air, but my sched is full with

Mon-Tues:
Lie To Me
Baby Faced Beauty
Manny

Wed-Thurs:
Best Love

Though I usually watch the eng subbed eps on my Fri-Sat off which is extended until Sun-Mon (for Best Love), I regularly stalked the net for any previews, recaps, news, etc during the entire week.

I am guilty that I cannot even watch the premier eps or read the recaps of

Romance Town
City Hunter
Miss Ripley

Which are getting great previews by the way. I guess I have to write it on my long list of to-watch dramas. To make up, I'll make a general post and a separate one or two later (when I finally had the time to watch it).

Also my heart cannot take any more angst aside from Ah Jung-Ki Joon (Lie To Me) and Ae Jung-Dokko Jin (Best Love) or it will just burst. And I would be one Iron (wo)Man like Jin!

Why Lie To Me?

There’s a post in AKP (A Koala’s Playground) on Why Are You Watching Lie To Me?

I confess I watch Lie To Me for the sole reason because it is YEH’s KDrama.

My love for YEH started with Princess Hours (Goong) and solidified with Coffee Prince.

So, even if there were tons of KDrama airing now with more substantial plots I will not give up LTM! Anyways, I’m easy to please, just give me some lovey dovey eps and I’m in! And they sure know how - given the recent Ice Cream and Cola kissing scenes (I guess there will be a couple more in store for us).

The OTP (YEH and Kang Ji Hwan)’s chemistry is their main hold to fangirls like me.

But even with all these said (and done) the first spot still goes to Best Love. Then a close second is LTM.
