OTP

I was reading recaps for the non subbed eps of Lie to Me and Best Love on Dramabeans and A Koala’s Playground (a new found drama blog) when I encountered the acronym OTP more than I could count.

What? Me a certified Drama Queen isn’t aware of OTP meaning?

Can’t believe it myself, and with a hurt pride I googled “OTP in dramas”.

And OTP happens to mean One True Pair/ing.

Well, in case of Lie to Me it would be Ae Jung and Ki Joon then Ae Jung and Dokko Jin for Best Love.

Another vocabulary on my already- cramped brain.

2nd Drama Queen Blogversary!

The Drama Queen turns 2 this May 29!

And so with my other blog It’s Not Always About ME (May 22).

After 118 posts, I still am the Drama Queen who lives and breathes on Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese Dramas. Yes there were times that I am too busy to update but never crossed my mind to stop watching dramas and blogging. I want to share what I love and hate about these dramas.

And as long as there are dramas and I can still watch and type, I think I’ll continue being the Drama Queen Yuuki.

Here’s my very first post here
Confessions of a Drama Queen

KDrama: 49 Days

49 Days ended a few days ago but my heart is still heavy with all the crying and angst.

I so love the story and pace, with each episode leaving you on the edge, wanting for the days to move a little faster to watch the next one.

I wanted to write about it every episode but I felt I cannot give justice to the complexity of the story.

There’s the stories between

1. Ji Hyun-Min Ho
2. Ji Hyun-Kang Ah
3. Kang Ah-Min Ho
4. Min Ho-In Jung
5. Ji Hyun-In Jung
6. Ji Hyun-Yi Soo
7. Yi Soo-Yi Kyung
8. Yi Kyung-Ji Hyun

And there’s still about the parents and friends.

It’s a melodrama about life and death.

After watching, one would reflect if you’d

1. Lived your life with purpose
2. Been loved and have truly loved another
3. Believe in fate/ destiny

I cried for everyone on the KDrama, even for the evils Min Ho and In Jung. I hate them but also felt pity.

But I cried the most for the love between Yi Soo and Yi Kyung (even now that I am typing this my eyes are blurry). Their love is so pure but tragic, I soo wanted them to be together but I know they can’t. I love-hate the ending because of that.

I really recommend this drama, I plan to watch it again, I already miss Yi Soo!

Crazy Drama Weekend

Watched:

Best Love eps 1-3 (with eng subs)
Best Love ep 4 (w/o subs)
49 Days eps 17-18 (with eng subs)
Lie to Me eps 1-2 (with eng subs)
Baby Faced Beauty eps 1-2 (with eng subs)

My emotions were like a rollercoaster, one time I am laughing hard (Best Love, Lie to Me), next I’m crying my eyes out (49 Days). As for Baby-Faced Beauty I’m kinda irritated with the idiotic bickering of Jang Na Ra and Daniel Choi (though I’m still hopeful and plan to watch the next eps).

KDrama: Lie to Me

CP vs CH.

That’s Coffee Prince vs Coffee House.

The leads of these two KDramas, Yoon Eun Hye (CP) and Hyun Ki Joon (CH) come together for Lie to Me.

Did I mention I love both these KDramas? And YEH is my ultimate fave Korean Actress?

Do I need to say that I am totally dying to watch it?

I really do!

And it starts today!

KDrama: Manny

Not Manny Pacquiao (who just happens to win his latest bout with Mosley) but the KDrama Manny about a male nanny.

Man + Nanny = Manny

Although the premise is common and we expect the Manny to fall in love with the employer and vice versa - the dramatic and comic scenes are quite good and heartwarming. It breaks my heart to see mom and the kids suffer from the divorce, it cracks me up whenever the Manny, Yi Han and Janice (sister) bicker and fight.

But that’s just it.

I’ll try to stick till the end, hoping the story will keep my dwindling interest.

I was laughing my ass out while watching eps 1 & 2 of KDrama Best Love aka the Greatest Love, loving the characters of Ae Jung and Dokko Jin. But the wierd part is I can't understand what the hell they were saying. It doesn't have an english sub title yet. Wahaha.

KDrama: Best Love

Whoops! I miss one day.

That’s because the Kdrama: Best Love started yesterday.

It’s the seventh of The Hong Sisters’ Dramas, they’re one of the sought for Screen Writers in the KDramaland. They just wrote the scripts for

1. Delightful Girl Chun-hyang, 2005
2. My Girl, 2005-06
3. Fantasy Couple, 2006
4. Hong Gil Dong, 2008
5. You’re Beautiful, 2009
6. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, 2010

My fave among those are You’re Beautiful and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. I still have to watch Hong Gil Dong and Fanasy Couple though, but definitely not this May (as my KDrama sched is full-packed!).

Anyways, reading the recaps at Dramabeans made this (meaning ME) non-Korean speaking girl so so happy!

Waiting for eng subbed eps!
